Ah, but the problem is, your manual is not really a manual these days. Porsche uses the PDK gear box for the manuals. You are using the stick shift to change gears instead of the levers. In PDK gear boxes, the gears are not sequential, that's why the stick isn't like the old timey sticks. So, a PDK by any other name, is still a PDK, regardless of the number of pedals or how you choose to chanby db997S - Main Forum

R&T: Which is the Right One for You?by db997S - Main Forum
Standard seats are very comfy on these cars. My wife and I went on a two-week road trip from D.C. to Maine and back, without a complaint. Been to Chicago and back. VT and back. Atlanta and back. Etc. Two trunks help, too, but word of caution, the rear trunk can get very warm, if not hot (especially in the summer). So, no makeup or anything with a low melting point goes back there. Enjoy.by db997S - Main Forum
The 18-way adaptive sports seats will fit you to a T! Congrats. Was it hard to resist ordering it in Kermit the Frog Green? As the song goes, waiting it is the hardest part. Enjoy your last few months in the 987.by db997S - Main Forum

I used AAA. I was in a parking lot before a concert and my battery died. They actually came, found me, replaced the battery (wouldn't jump), when disconnecting the battery, he was able to keep juice to it so all the codes, etc. stayed. Very impressed. Then, nine months later, in the mist of COVID, I had a senior moment, left my key in my car, battery died again. Couldn't jump it again. Camby db997S - Main Forum

can only hear it at low speed, window down and sound bouncing off a wall. Really odd, but now it's gone.by db997S - Main Forum
They still use the PDK and in fact, the gear selection is different sequence than what appears on the manual shift knob, in fact, a computer adjusts for it. It is not sequential, at all. Here's an interesting article that loves the manual 7-speed in the 911 series, but in it, you can see how a computer seems to still change the gears, not your hand. You can see the real gear sequence vs what aby db997S - Main Forum
A bearing was my fear, too, but they couldn't replicate it, and when I backed into my garage with the top and windows down, couldn't hear it, either. They checked a plate that is part of the braking system, that sometimes causes squeaks, and it was fine. Maybe just pulling the wheel and messing with the brakes unstuck what ever was stuck. No tell-tale marks on the rotors that made them think iby db997S - Main Forum

Have to get an emissions test to renew my registration. My batter completely died. No dash lights, nothing. Replaced the batter and the OBC light up like a Christmas tree with all these failure notices (at dealer now clearing them). Before getting the emissions test, should I take it for a long ride to ensure that the O2 senor and the cat converter come back to life? Or, is that not necessarby db997S - Main Forum
I can only hear it when coming in or out (forward and reverse) of my driveway as the sound "bounces" off the house. At speed, the engine noise drowns it out. It is in the shop as i type. So, not certain what they'll find. Any thoughts? Thanksby db997S - Main Forum

Nothing, no dash lights or interior "dome" light. Window didn't go down when I opened the door. Odd thing, spoiler is up and my trip yesterday was local and nowhere near 75 mph. Key is stuck in the ignition. Put in a new battery back in November. I did something I've never done before and left the key in the ignition overnight, but that was for a 20-hour period only. Funny, some would say that your Boxster has too many "fancy" things for a sports car. If you get a 2009 or newer, you don't have the IMS and many of those things you mention are options in "convenience" packages. I have a homelink type thing, heated seats and steering wheel, ventilated seats, PCM for its time, etc. As far as ride, even my 1999 Base Boxster was great on roadtrips.
