even though a judge tossed a similar $2 billion suit back in December. This stems from losses suffered from Porsche trying to take over VW.by db997S - Main Forum
The Boxsters shut down after five days of being idle. So, if you lock your car and leave it for more than 5 days, you'll need the key to unlock it. The remote won't wake it up from sleep mode. This helps. Not sure if your 993 is new enough for that to come into play.by db997S - Main Forum
Not related, but Car and Driver did a review of the new Bentley and how fine of an interior it has. One of the reviewers actually lived in it for a 24-hour period and did a write up of it. Kind of funny.by db997S - Main Forum
No, I'm not that smart, had to look it up on the Web. Traditional means a person after whom a discovery, place, institution or invention is named. The new is the acronym for EPOS, or Electronic Point of Sale (think grocery store scanner or debit card reader).by db997S - Main Forum
I have 19" wheels on my 997S Cab. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but just like my two previous Boxsters, I can drive my car all day long. Also, the 911 just simply seems to be a more solidly built auto, and it should for the price Porsche charges. Yes, washboard roads are harsh, but I drive my car every chance I get. My daily commute is only 4 miles each way, but DC roads are third-world qby db997S - Main Forum
You should support him, unless there are factual issues you are aware of regarding the model year he's thinking of buying. This could actually be a good thing for you if your life-long friend does buy the car. You can get his impressions on the car, maybe even drive it on occassion, to know whether or not you should keep it on your bucket list. It's not a Jag, so encourage him. Bombs away. Have my flame suit on. I've never heard the Spyder, but I know I can compare my two previous Boxsters ('98 base and 02 S) to my current 09 911S, and I must say, the 911 S is much sweeter sounding than either of the two Boxsters. Just firing the car up, it snorts and snarls. With the top down in my garage, it is very pronounced and causes my young nieces (8 & 9) to cover theirby db997S - Main Forum
No photos, but my first Boxster (and first Porsche for that matter) was purchased in 1998. The wait was six months at my local dealer in DC. So, I purchased one from a dealer in CT for a three-month wait, but then production stopped due to porous engine blocks. My car arrived he day before leaving for a three-week safari to Africa. So, i had to wait until I got back. Then I took a train fromby db997S - Main Forum

According to a survey (Gender and Fender) by CarGurus, which is based on sales inquiries to dealers using the Web site DealFinder, the 911 tops the men's list and the Rogue tops the Women's list. For the men, the 10 favorites were the 911, Chevrolet Corvette sports car , Dodge Ram 2500 Heavy Duty pickup, Subaru Impreza compact sedan, Mercedes-Benz SL-class, Ford F-250 Super Duty pickup, BMW M3,by db997S - Main Forum

vehicles in the U.S. and/or China. Overall, VW wants to bump its annual sales from 8 mill to 11 and will open a half dozen or so factories to do so, which may allow it to also produce various brands in one plant. Nothing seems confirmed yet. Just news-related articles being to pop up on both fronts, including the rumored 550 (aka Baby Boxster).by db997S - Main Forum
I use a digital gauge, but rely on the Porsche system to monitor when the pressure is lower in one tire vs the others. If the Porsche system routinely reads 34 pounds, and then i notice it drop to 33 or 32, I'll use my digital gauge to check and then add whatever is needed. As long as the right sides agree with the left sides, I'm happy.by db997S - Main Forum
I come here, it's front and center. I'm tired of having to scroll down to get to something new to discuss. It's not the topic, it's just that it never goes away. I think it's good, everytime somebody responds to a thread, it pops up top, but the down side is, it never seems to die. Maybe put a time limit for how long it pops to the top. Maybe three days and then after that, it stays put and pby db997S - Main Forum
Also, check the front hood to see if it is below the bumper. Your latch may have to be lowered. One way to test this is to get some blue painter's tape, and tape the seam all away around the front hood. If the whistle stops, then you know the latch as to be lowered. If it is still there, then as Miken said, it could be the mirror. The painter's tape is the best because it should not leave anby db997S - Main Forum
