Thanks, I'll file that away. I did not buy my present car at Arlington. I found that they weren't interested in dealing. Also, the sales guy never called or contacted me in between visits, and when i did follow up with him, it was like the first time we met. I normally like the low pressure tactics, but that was a bit extreme. He kept plowing over the same ground, didn't remember what I testby db997S - Main Forum
They did more than switch the service team, about 18 months ago they sold a majority of the dealership to, if I recall correctly, Oursman. You have to watch the service guys who write you up and check you in, as they've left some of my to dos off the list. So, have them read it back to you. That group isn't as friendly or seem to take an interest as the old crew. They used to know you by nameby db997S - Main Forum
I think that it's good news. Some feared certain future Porsche projects wouldn't see the light of day as to not to compete with Audi, or that current Porsche product lines wouldn't be improved (or improvements would be retarded) as to not to encroach or compete with Audi lines.by db997S - Main Forum
From a U.S. Wire report on Friday (Dow Jones): VW Group Chief Executive Martin Winterkorn, the company's research chief Ulrich Hackenberg, Audi Chief Executive Rupert Stadler and Mueller himself "amicably made the decision that Porsche is the most sporty brand and will build the most sporty car" in each individual market segment, Mueller is cited as saying. An Audi sports car would in the futurby db997S - Main Forum
Driving can come into play, too. Lots of short trips can drain a battery, too, espcially in the cold weather. It takes juice to start a car, and if you don't drive it very far, the alternator doesn't have time to replenish that juice. But, if that doesn't describe your driving habits, I'd hope that the dealer did some diagnositcs as two years is a very short life for a battery under normal drivby db997S - Main Forum

I find that my new 47" LED from Sharp is amazing with HDMI connection (got my HDMI cord at overstock.com for really cheap compared with retail). It's almost too good as fake trees on some TV show sets look fake. The picture is almost 3D, but it doesn't come at you like traditional 3D. The depth of view is where it is really noticable. So, if not going projection screen, get a nice LED or LCDby db997S - Main Forum
depends. If taking a road trip, i go mellow in the morning for the first hour or so. By then, I'm awake and got a groove going so it's time to crank up the volume and tempo. No, real best or worst. Mainly, it's a mood thing.by db997S - Main Forum
Live in Arlington. Haven't done the drive and dines, been tempted, but always seem to have conflicts. Weekends are difficult with commitments and honey do lists. Also, with a vegitarian wife and me boycotting seafood to to the pillaging of the oceans, it's hard to do the dine part. Thought of doing the drive one of these days. Done two rallies and those have been fun.by db997S - Main Forum
I traded my 2002S this time last year (actually Nov. 2009) and Kelly Blue Book was lower than $20K even for sale, not trade value. Plus, going into winter, you can do much better. Even if it has a boat load of options, those don't really come into factor in resale. I'd check kbb.com to see what they think a 2002 S is worth. I'd say probably in the $16K range.by db997S - Main Forum
a half of house from my driveway due to an inch and a half of unplowed snow. Up a slight hill. Neighbor gave me a push. Last year we got snow fall in feet, not inches. I never thought it was worth the investment or hassle for snow tires in DC winters, but too much more of this silly stuff and may have to rethink things. Of course, before leaving from work I did ask my wife if the streets werby db997S - Main Forum

Ahh, just like every year at Christmas, as kids, we'd get all jacked about our newest toys under the tree, but when that newness wore off a few months later, we'd gravitate back to our old reliables again. And, it never failed, they'd take us back with never a complaint or never ask why we left them on the shelf for so long gathering dust. If your new toy, er, SUV still has you jacked up a yearby db997S - Main Forum

Me personally, I hope to have a sports car (preference would be Porsche) in my garage for the remainder of my natural life. So, in 40 years if you see a brightly colored Porsche tearing down the roads with what appears to be no driver, except for two hands on the steering wheel, it will probably be a shrunken and diaper wearing me. Out of the way whiper snapper.by db997S - Main Forum
Sports cars and luxury car models. Figure, Porsche has seen all--sports cars, four door sedans and SUVs. Which company is know for its handling, Auid or Porsche. I'd think Audi would welcome the Porsche involvment. It could only improve on things.by db997S - Main Forum

Have fun with the money pit, er, I mean retoration. Do you have the car already? PCNA is raffling off a '72 911 this summer. It took them a while to find a good candidate. It's over in Germany going through a complete factory restoration. They usually raffle off a new car (somebody on PPBB won the club coupe a couple of years ago). The PCNA one is already more of a challenge due to rust andby db997S - Main Forum

Harman International Industries, Inc., to provide provide next-generation infotainment systems. Think they have agreements with MB, Toyota, Lexus and Huyandai, as well. Their brands include: AKG, Harman Kardon, Infinity, JBL, Lexicon and Mark Levinson.by db997S - Main Forum
Just saw a NY Times Blog that quoted Porsche Spokesman indicated that they'll be back for the first time since 2007 and "In an interview with Bloomberg, Hans-Gerd Bode, a Porsche spokesman, said recently, 'We'll have something spectacular to show there. You'll have to wait and be surprised.'" The show kicks off on Jan. 10. Interesting, that Porsche will not have its own press conferenece at theby db997S - Main Forum
Mines a daily driver, so in nice weather I leave the top down for long stretches. I'd be more worried about constantly putting the top up and down which to me seems like it would put more stress on the mechanisim than leaving it in one position. But, in your case, i think I'd leave it up when not driving since it will go up and down just once per week. It keeps the top stretched, not creased,by db997S - Main Forum
Amazing that just because it's a hybrid you get the tax credit, even though its EPA rating is 20 mpg city and 24 highway. Why not give Mini buyers a break? Wonder what will happen when the 918 goes into production? Talk about an uproar of our tax laws once the Jay Lenos and Jerry Seinfelds of the world get an $1,800 tax credit for buying $500,0000 cars. Plug your ears now. Of course, I'll fiby db997S - Main Forum
