gonna be kicking back in Steamboat instead. I'll probably turn on the computer and watch what I can via ESPN3. I'll look for you on TV!by jg wnc - Main Forum
Turn 11 used to be much more scary before the changes to turn 10 (added a left - right 10A and 10. James Reeve (a formal SCCA D Production national champion) used to say that the old turn 11 was like driving into your garage at 100 MPH.by jg wnc - Main Forum
I have had this happen to me on the track. IIRC it has to do with the oil scavenge pump on the right bank of cylinders. It was happening to me fairly consistently at Road Atlanta between exiting turn 2 - slight left hander - and braking in to turn 3 - hard right hander. During braking, the oil surges to the front of the cylinder bank and the scavenge pump can't pump it all out, so some oil makby jg wnc - Main Forum

Porsche plans to compete with a gas/hybrid engine vs. Audi and Peugot in diesels.by jg wnc - Main Forum
The kid is funny!by jg wnc - Main Forum
Porsche has already committed to build a top class entry for the new FIA Endurance Championship and LeMans which will run to the same rules. The rules are not completely done yet, but the thinking is that Porsche will compete with a gas engine against Audi and Peugot with diesels. No problems with the intra-corporate competition with Audi. This was announced a couple months ago.by jg wnc - Main Forum
So what constitutes a drive cycle? I presume it includes a cold start and full warm up and some variation in RPM's over some time period. What else?by jg wnc - Main Forum
I have been getting a Secondary Air Injection light for several years. I could hear the pump running on cold start, so I knew there wasn't much of a problem and I just used my code reader and would reset the light every few weeks when it would come on. Last year before emissions inspection, it kept coming on and I would have to reset it and go through a bunch of cycles with the car to get all sby jg wnc - Main Forum
What year and how many miles on your car? The front motor mounts frequently go out by 40K miles.by jg wnc - Main Forum
All auto manufacturers these days do more assembly of parts sourced globally than manufacturing. That's the model that everyone uses worldwide. I was in Germany last fall and did a tour of both the engine and chasis assembly lines at Porsche and the AMG engine assembly line. It looks like things might have changed for Porsche engine assembly as we watched the engines move down the line, but thby jg wnc - Main Forum
Do you have or are your prepared to make all the investments you will have to make to go racing? Do you have a tow vehicle? Do you have a trailer? How much mechanical work can you do on your own and how well stocked is your tool chest? Do you have the garage space to work on the car? Or do you have bucket loads of cash and you will pay someone else to do the prep work and haul the car to theby jg wnc - Main Forum
The rest should go just as smoothly.by jg wnc - Main Forum
Turns out there was a good bit more damage that I spotted on my own. The body shop (hopefully the one Lawdevil is going to use) found damage to heat shields besides the bumper cover and the bumperettes. There was also some damage to the exhaust which I used as my opportunity to upgrade to a Porsche Sport Exhaust. From the final bill by the body shop, I will also say that there is a substantialby jg wnc - Main Forum
I'm signed up for ATL at the end of the month. Not a big time investment, so probably worthwhile.by jg wnc - Main Forum

When the guy ran into my back end, his insurance company wanted to put a reconditioned rear bumper cover on my car. The guys at Performance Auto Collision helped me stand my ground and get a factory replacement bumper cover. They also found some additional damage to the heat shields that I did not see and the insurance company's adjuster did not see either. These guys know their business. Theby jg wnc - Main Forum
The Audi's just did not seem right - even if they are part of the family now.by jg wnc - Main Forum
just take a look around to verify. No matter what you do to keep your car nice, some other idiot will come along and mess it up. I second Christian's recommendation for Performance Auto Collision in Alpharetta. I have used them three times (hit in the rear by someone, hit in the door by someone, and hit by a deer in my neighborhood) on my Boxster and they do superb work.by jg wnc - Main Forum
I ran 226A two years ago heading up to BRBS. Got there in the mid afternoon time frame...... and was stuck behind a school bus for what seemed and smelled like an eternity. At the top of the hill, it pulled into a driveway and turned around and headed back down.by jg wnc - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
Sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. A hassle free transaction is always nice. Hope you will stick around PB and keep your Boxster web site up. Thanks for all you have done for the Boxster community.by jg wnc - Main Forum
I think BRBS will be some great therapy for you. Looking forward to seeing you and your beautiful RFG Boxster!by jg wnc - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
My 02S tip only has 60K miles, but probably not worth much more than yours. Given your situation, I would probably go with the local indy shop and their rebuild guy. The $600 more is probably worth the extra peace of mind. I am presuming you would get some kind of warranty on the work. If not, then I would probably consider the aftermarket rebuilt unit. And yes, I'd go ahead and to the interby jg wnc - Main Forum
yet I sometimes read the police activity summaries, and it seems like the cops frequently use failure to signal as an excuse to pull someone over. Go figure........by jg wnc - Main Forum
I read something in the Porsche Club e-Brake news about it. Touting the virtues of a Porsche as a daily driver. As part of the campaign, Porsche sent 200 flip video cameras to owners asking them to document their everyday use of the car and post it on the web. How are you doing Pedro? Posted anything yet?by jg wnc - Main Forum

And all the crashes did nothing to change my opinion of the general skill level of the drivers in the IRL. In spite of what Robin Miller may be saying, the bulk of the IRL field is filled with wankers!by jg wnc - Main Forum
