Hi All, I did an oil change this weekend and while I was under the car, I noticed some wetness, feels like oil but I could be wrong.

I get 1-3 drips on the driveway over night after driving. I noticed my coolant level was below min, and i have since topped up,m but don't think that's related.

2005 Boxster 2.7L (original owner), 61,000 km

Any idea of what this could be?, I included some pics so perhaps we can identify it. Thanks in Advance!

Rear Main Seal leak
Try using a motor oil with a bit more viscosity
Eventually you'll need to get it fixed or it will damage the flywheel
Whenever you change the clutc that's the time to do it

Thanks guys! I looked up RMS and that seems to be exactly the description of what happening!

At first I was scared of the horrid IMS issue....

I'm just curious if its such a small leak, why will it damage the flywheel?

I'm using 0W-40.... I see what you mean... what would viscosity would u recommend?

Thanks again!
The oil leak ...

... from the RMS is right behind the flywheel.
The Boxster's flywheel is a dual-mass flywheel with an integrated elastometer.
Petroleum products, such as oil will damage this type of material.
0W40 is way too thin unlese you are Santa Claus and live in the North Pole.
I highly recommend you switch to 10W40 High Mileage (regardless of your actual mileage).
If you are in a hot environment the oil could be 15W50 which is my personal choice in So. FL.
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro
