Intermittent reluctant start issue diagnosed and fixed

Lately, turning the ignition key has produced the electronic dip-stick image but the starter would engage only after depressing the clutch pedal several times (and getting a 'depress clutch pedal' alert).

A quick google search produced this article from Pelican Parts.

I bought and installed the grey clutch micro-switch - 99761310902 - and all is as it should be. Installation requires standing on your head beneath the clutch pedal, and the adept use of tiny vice-grips to remove the philips screw from a very confined space, but it otherwise straightforward.

That, a light bulb, and a touch of Maurice-the-Roof-Master's love to the convertible top (at BRBS) are the only repairs required in well over 2 years. Superb car.
