Clutch pedal sticks in mid-position
IFlyLow - Monday, 5 September, 2011, at 12:26:56 am
I have a few symptoms which seem related, and I think point to bleeding the brakes/clutch, but I just want to make sure I'm not missing something.
The most troubling was yesterday, when my clutch pedal would only come 6-8 inches off the floor. The clutch was engaged, and I could shift, but the pedal would stop halfway up. With a slight nudge, it would continue up, but there seemed to be a slight sticking point in the center of travel.
Other symptoms which may be related: I have noticed lately that the clutch engages very close to the floor(2-3 inches). It may be normal, but it feels farther down than I am used to.
Second, I recently got a brake pad wear light.
To me this all point to possible air in the brake/clutch system. I plan to bleed the system once I change the pads, but is there something else I should be looking at?
