My son and I enjoyed last night's game with some fine cigars and spirits.
At least one of my teams is on top of the world....

... 'cause the other one couldn't be any worse!
Can you say Dolphins?

Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

Not to worry about our sad sack Dolphins, Pedro. Looks like they will win one contest:

The problem is that ...

I'm really enjoying college football though.

as a life long New England Patriot's fan I delight in your Dolphin's sorrow.

I moved to Florida in 1982 from the St. Louis area. The Cards beat the Brewers that year right after I moved. I loved it. Now, many years later, I still follow the team and enjoy baseball and the amazing twists and turns a team experiences in a long season.

That being said, I've never experienced anything like the last two months...getting into the playoffs on the last day with lots of help and making the best of it in the very best way!

I was exhausted after game 7 and had no ability to enjoy college football yesterday or the pros today as they games couldn't hold a candle to the baseball playoffs.

Hats off the Rangers but Yeah Cards!

TLR wasn't the first manager we've ever had...

I appreciate the job he did and salute him for taking the opportunity to go out on his terms.

As for Albert, where is he going to go? I'm not saying he won't leave and he won't be missed but who can really consider signing him?

NYY? - The already have an aging club, Huge payroll and have an all star first baseman under (big) contract
Boston? - Nope. Albert doesn't drink. Besides, Gonzalez signed just last year to multi-year, free agent contract
Philly - Long term contract already in place to Ryan Howard
Dodgers - Bankrupt
Mets - almost in same boat as Dodgers
Brewers - Can't afford their current first base
Chicago Cubs - Possible.
Angels - Possible.
Texas - Possible
No other mid-market team will be in the running.

by the outcome.

I have mixed feelings about resigning Albert. He''s earned every penny of his last contract and will be a huge for whoever signs him. It can really strap the franchise for years to come by signing him to such a long term, high dollar contract. You could get a closer and all star SS and still have money in the bank.

As a long time Cubs fan, I don't like the Cardinals, but have to admit it was one of the most exciting world series ever.

Our day is coming. Hopefully in my lifetime.
My oldest son...

... like me, is a big Cards fan, but my second son, maybe just to be contrary, even though he also grew up in St. Louis, became a Cubs fan.
Through the years, maybe because of the Cub's drought and the Cards' success, he became a rabid fan, even naming his dog "Cubbie" and teaching her to rub her nose when he says" Cardinals stink".
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro
