Brake flush. 2001 Box S with motive
Petee_C - Monday, 31 October, 2011, at 8:15:44 pm
I spent a couple hours this afternoon doing a brake flush on my S and cleaning the insides of the wheels. Went smoothly. Used the dry method. Refilled the master cylinder after each caliper was flushed. Saved washing out the motive. Brake fluid in the car was from Oct 2007. Just a couple tiny bubbles.

I used dot 4 from an almost new container. It was opened a couple months ago when I was fixing a torn piston seal on my Jetta.
Opened brake fluid used on a Boxster will cause failure...

...of your IMS (like everything else)!
The Motive product works great...I should have bought one years ago.

motive is great. I strongly suggest the wet method

avoids potential catastrophe (pushing air into the works) - and how hard is cleaning? Run hot water through it, dry thoroughly (leave in sun/dry environment). Rinse with alcohol if you must.

Agree with using the wet method. Cleanup is less than 2 minutes with a little bit of alcohol.
