Photo of my 1962 Austin Healey 3000 MKIII

I have been sorry for years that I did not have a photo of the 1962 Austin Healey 3000 MKIII that I owned back in the 1960s in Minneapolis Minnesota. Today I was going through some old photos and I found a 3x3 photo I forgot I had. The original color when I bought the car was white. My brother and I stripped it down and painted it a Metallic Copper, a color I would recommend to Porsche. I wish I still had the car it was great. It was a straight 6 cylinder with dual SU carbs that generated 150HP. It had an electric overdrive and I once had it up to 135 MPH. I probably paid a couple of thousand for it slightly used and today on the Internet you can't touch them for less than $60,000.

Here is the photo

Jeff, that pic brings back some memories. I had a 1957, a 1960 and a 1965. They were all trouble -free cars and a load of fun.

Those were and still car nice cars. A friend had a 1960 that I did some wrenching on in the 60's. As I recall it had 3 SUs and the exhaust exited just past the drivers door (side exhaust). It sounded really nice.
It must have been old English car day as I also passed an MG Midget and an MGB.
nice car -- I have a 1960 MkI

Unfortunately it is most still in random boxes.

I passed up a chance to buy a 3000 in 1966, and bought a TR4A instead because it was $400 cheaper.

That was a lot of money in those days.
