Not because of snow, but blinding morning sunlight dead ahead. Traffic had stopped on a two lane (each direction) highway because a motorcyclist had slid into the median. I moved into the left lane and waited, but in my rearview mirror I could see vehicles barreling closer at high speed. Suddenly an SUV veered into the right shoulder's downhill embankment and flipped twice, coming to rest on its roof. Seconds later a tractor trailer sped alongside me in the right lane. Suddenly veering into the shoulder and embankment, it went partially airborne, the cab vertically jack-knifing and violently bouncing off the ground until the whole thing crashed into a stand of trees. The cyclist was walking around, but I imagined the truck driver must've broken his neck, along with injuries to the people in the SUV. Plenty of people were quickly rendering aid so I moved on.
As Bill Cosby used to say ...

... In situations like this one:
First you say it, then you do it.

Racecar spelled backwards is Racecar

"Racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting" ... Steve McQueen as Michael Delaney in "LeMans"

"If you wait, all that happens is that you get older"... Mario Andretti

"Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose" ... Ayrton Senna
Now I understand why the word is used! *NM*
