Ride and Sound Differences Between Bridgestone Summers and Pirelli Winters, 2009 Boxster 18 inch AS2003 - Tuesday, 20 December, 2011, at 11:35:11 am |
Suppleness: more tread between the road and the belts? Maybe this explains the relative quietude. *NM* Laz - Tuesday, 20 December, 2011, at 1:34:10 pm |

Happy Holidays-
I had my winter tires switched last week and- once again this year- I am surprised by how much quieter the car is and how much more supple the ride is with the winter tires. Granted, they don't stick like the summer tires do in the warm weather, but it's a welcome trade-off due to some long distance (800 mile+) trips I will be doing over the holidays.
Overall, I have been very pleased with my summer OEM Bridgestone tires. They offer great traction and have at least 20K on them with another 7-10K left (according to the dealer who switched them out). I should add that the car is frequently driven as intended when conditions allow. In any event, I wonder if the Bridgestones are a "loud" tire compared to other summer tire options. Any thoughts?
Thanks Gang. Happy Holidays.
