The "real world" disadvantage of PASM's lowered suspension is the bump stops are more likely to be hit, the fronts at least. (Along with more spoiler scraping despite the shorter overhang: my sister's driveway curb cut, e.g.) What I've found is by putting PASM on Sport setting, the stiffening reduces the probability of adverse events. The body is rock solid, and can handle the occasional shock going over shopping plaza speed bumps, etc. It's a boingy ride over those things anyway.
