Rear trunk lid keeps unlatching-Any adjustment?
tom coughlin - Tuesday, 10 January, 2012, at 10:21:42 am
The rear trunk lid seems to want to be open even though I keep closing it. Is there any adjustment? Thanks, Tom
I had a key module that did this. The rubber membrane over the button cracked and caused the button to stick down.

Less likely is you are sitting on the key or something in your pocket is pressing the button.

Lastly I do not think an adjustment will help. Unlatching if the latch catches is not an adjustment problem. If the key is not acting up, if you're not accidently triggering the trunk to open then the latch is worn out.

Sincerely,

MarcW.

If your model year has the electronic trunk release buttons in the cabin doorsill area, it could just be that there is dirt/sand stuck in the toggle switch. Happened to me before. Just lift the button and blow some compressed air in there to clear any debris, and the trunk should stop opening on its own.
Is there ...
