ouroboros
I added a touchscreen DVD/Satnav 2 DIN unit for a while and went into the CDR 23 with a FM modulator. It sounded okay, but then I realized the maps & music on my iPhone were better than any aftermarket 2 din out there (even in the newest OEM car today).
You can take an iPhone/iPod via the 3.5mm Becker telephone jack I think. Only Mono, but being as this sound system isn't the best, esp with the top down I plan to do this using something like a pro clip to mount my iPhone (It works nicely on my other cars).
A proper job would be Dension, then again I;d want to check it does't kick the iPhone into accessory mode first . It really annoys me when car systems do this(like Mercedes does). I have to try select my songs using 1980's menus rather than my iPhone touchscreen!
The ultimate would be taking the CDR23 apart and getting the telephone in, in stereo. No idea if this is possible, but it would give me:
a) a proper analogue aux in
b) still allow me to control my songs on the iPhone touchscreen
