For some time now, most suppliers have offered a flexible, resilient, and (optimally) compliant rear-end finish, enabling the absorption of everyday bumps, as well as the occasional larger impact.

In this case, that appears to be what we have, and, given the sparkle, I'd be going with Basalt.

A careful observer will also notice the underlying lightweight triangular enhancement at the top of the contour.
