While I think inanimate objects*, especially those created by humans, can be imbued with a spirit of sorts, this guy is pushing it way too far; "projecting" might be more apt. At best for me, my Honda is like a good, long time friend: I take care of it, and it takes care of me. Contemplating a battered Ferrari that had just run a race at Lime Rock, I saw the car itself as a warrior, not just the driver.
* I believe it's Fritjof Capra, who wrote in
The Web of Life that while inanimate objects don't cogitate, they still posess consciousness.
And yes, the guy is a nutbag.
