2001 Base- Check Engine Light
stowie27 - Tuesday, 14 February, 2012, at 5:34:12 pm
Hello- i have a 2001 base with about 87K miles on it. It had been sitting for about 2 weeks but I just took it out for a spin as I was planning on taking it on a 2 hour ride to Boston tomorrow. It is driving fine and is showing no issues at all, however the Check Engine light came on. It had a full 60K service and is due its next oil change in about 1500 miles.

With the car driving fine, could this be a minor glitch that I shouldn't worry about or is this something I need to take very seriously? I appreciate any guidance!
Not to worry

If the light ever starts blinking then you have a cause for concern.

You can always go to a local auto parts store and they will read the code for free. If you post the code we will tell you what the deal is. In any case, drive to Boston and back without worrying.
