Engine Mount
mnchstrcityblues79 - Friday, 6 April, 2012, at 11:20:36 pm
Hey gang, long time, no chat. Unfortunately work has kept me away.

My 2003 986 is exhibiting tell-tale engine mount issues and I believe I am as certain as you can be without removing the mount that the mount, in fact, needs replacement. In my research I discovered that, at one time, Pedro offered replacement engine mounts that were, based on the reviews I read, superior to the OEM part. Sadly, I went to Pedro's website the other day to obtain a price and found he had discontinued the product.

My question is this, does anyone know of a good after-market OEM-replacement engine mount or am I stuck with the OEM part?

Kind regards,
Matthew

... calling Bert Smith Porsche and ordering the Front Engine Mount for the '08 Cayman S.
It is a much better mount than the Boxster's and the price is unbearable.
Porsche really got it right with this one.
It lasts longer and offers much better vibration damping with an affordable price for a wear item.
They charge $129 for the new part.
Happy Boxstering
