Removing Boxster Seat
kentv1 - Sunday, 1 July, 2012, at 8:22:38 pm
As usual, I'm stuck on the easy stuff. '00 Boxster S

How on earth does that electrical plug beneath the seat come apart? I don't see any clips or release tabs.

Thanks in advance. I appreciate the help.
Here you go...beware airbag warning light

Instructions for seat removal and diagram for disconnecting the electrical wire:

You may have to jiggle the wire a bit to remove, but as long as you release the securing tab, you should be fine.

Warning: last time I did this I got the dreaded airbag warning light, after I reconnected the wire. Make sure you have a buddy nearby that has a Durametric cable to reset the warning light; else the dealer will cost you an hour of labor. I was fortunate to have someone on the board nearby to reset the warning light for me...truly a gentleman...love this board.

Good luck!

Be sure you remove the key from the ignition switch. You won't get the warning light if yo remove the key.

I suggest you disconnect the battery. That way you don't trigger the air bag by accident. Again, make sure the wiring is plugged back in before reconnecting the battery. Don't ask me how I know.
