Another AirBag Dash Light Problem
kentv1 - Sunday, 22 July, 2012, at 3:00:48 am
I read the warnings on this Board, but just FORGOT!!

I reconnected my passenger seat electrical plug while the key was in the ignition, and while the battery was connected, and now I've got that lovely AirBag light staring at me.

Can I do anything short of finding a Durametric cable?

I could remove the seat and start over, and this time leave the battery disconnected, but it seems from other posts on this Board that aside from from using the Durametric cable, the only other thing that works is NOTHING. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Can this really be! I hate to go begging to the dealer, but I guess I could.
... On a '99 you can use a PST-II or a PIWIS.
Finally you can put a piece of black tape over the light.

Buy the Durametric - it's a great tool and a bargain

I bought one years ago for my 987 and love it. (I've had the BMW equivalent - Peake Research - for more than a decade)

It pays for itself very quickly, given that plugging my car into the dealer's PIWIS would be $125 a pop.

And it's great to be able to check for a multitude of fault codes, reset service lights etc.
