Not sure my wife would agree, but 3rd gear is a blast
db997S - Monday, 19 November, 2012, at 10:56:15 am
Went on a roadtrip this weekend and was in some rural, isolated, hilly/mountainy, roads. So, for the first time in awhile got to stretch my daily driver's legs. The fun one can have in a single gear is pretty amazing. Of course, as I found out the hardway, it should be done without luggage in the trunk. A slight spill didn't make the wife all too happy with third gear in the end.

In second gear, my 987 will exceed all speed limits in Canada.

On secondary roads, with a 80km/hr (50 mph) speed limit, 2nd is my 'go to' passing gear. De-snorked, wonderful wonderful sounds, especially from 6500 to the redline.
Minus 40 degrees... Is that Fahrenheit or Celsius?
after all, we bought the manual shifters for a reason, right? winking smiley

That look like a pretty hot ride ...but

I bet that's no Flat Six.
Good to about 105 mph (redline, 5-sp 986); good from about 55-60 mph (3750-4000 rpm).

There are tracks i never get out of 3rd and 4th. Most in fact. (4th is good to > 140 and my 210 hp motor is not)
