low frequency sound cuts out in a 987

Has anyone ever noticed the low end of their sound system going on and off intermittently in a 987? I'm not sure which sound package I have, but it's just an ordinary looking radio without satellite navigation screens. I recently blew a fuse by trying to run the air compressor from the outlet in the passenger leg area. I was hoping that by some luck this could explain it, but after replacing that fuse, no luck.

I wonder if it could be a loose wire if the bass speakers (the ones in the door) are cutting out. Are they both cutting out? Have you tried setting a balance to all left or all right? That might tell you if it's just one of the speakers.

Could it be a weak signal or does it happen with both radio and CD's?
it happens with radio and CDs.

I've got a sound system in my house where the externally powered subwoofer doesn't come on until the sound has been going for 10 seconds or so. It sounds identical to that, only that it goes back off too sad smiley

I was going to look for some loose connection too, just not sure where to start. Hope I don't start taking apart the door.
