What model year did Porsche redesign the Boxster/Cayman engine and eliminate the IMS/Bearing issue?

In late 2006/7 they made the bearing much larger (M97.2 motors) and it is reputed to be much more durable.

Note that not all failures attributed to the IMS are. I published apic of me holding one of the alleged failed bearings.

The 2009 model year brought the new engines and eliminated the IMS issue. *NM*
