High performance driving school
Boxsterra - Friday, 3 May, 2013, at 10:49:15 am
Can anybody recommend a good high performance driving school in the Northern California area?

If it's worth traveling to go elsewhere I'm open to that idea too.
You have some good options available. I'd check the calendars for any of these organizations and see when they will be at Thunderhill, Sonoma / Sears Point, or Laguna Seca / Mazda Raceway.

Some of the best initial education can come from one of the larger PCA clubs DEs. regional teaching standards vary, but our (NNJR's) instructor pool is excellent. I would guess that NorCal and PNW (both big clubs) also have good programs.

They are also relatively cheap, and feature true 1:1 matching of a ride-along instructor to a student.

For real racing pro instruction i cant say in NorCal. Here i would point to Skip Barber at LRP.

but if a school supplied car is needed, then, yes, it is more limiting.

If he finds what he's interested in, i'd be curious for a report after the event...
