Products for your Boxster, Cayman and Carrera.
One brand that looks really interesting in Crow Enterprises:

1. lots of options
2. cheap
3. can be re-certified and re-webbed for reasonabel cost after 5 years (or whatever)

downside: not the usual suspects, SFI 16.1 and 16.5 cert only, no FIA

The usual suspect is Shroth. Expensive. Nice, no doubt. Some doub;le-talk (to me) about 2" belts being safer than 3" belts. Thsi was part of "why i need to buy the exepensive version rather than the clubman" (whcih is $219 or so).

The basics:

- boxster
- sub bars
- harness bar, correct height
- eye hooks for lap belts
- OEM (GT3) seats

Who can give some solid advice? Good/bad on Crow? Is FIA cert somehow important? etc.

If you're going to use a ...

... HANS device then the 2" shoulder belt is safer than the 3" ones.
The 3" don't fit we'll over the HANS' shoulder guides and tend to roll out.
I've found that some US manufacturers don't apply for FIA certification because they cater to the oval, dirt or drag racers.
It's very expensive to obtain an FIA stamp (which goes right into the price of the item).
Happy Boxstering

Racecar spelled backwards is Racecar

"Racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting" ... Steve McQueen as Michael Delaney in "LeMans"

"If you wait, all that happens is that you get older"... Mario Andretti

"Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose" ... Ayrton Senna
1. order 2" belts
2. oder 3" belts and they stich the shoulders back where it meets the HANS
3. he claims the 3" dos nto interfere with teh HANS' operation, but some find it uncomfortable.....dunno

SO its sounds like, as long as i get the right options, i'm fine with either. Fred Crow said as much " we dont apply because its expensive and most accept 16.1 or 16.5"

They are apparently (from internet chatter) widely used in airplanes too. (private general aviation)

Thanks Pedro
