Seat Cushion Cover Removal and Replacement
m4240z - Monday, 7 October, 2013, at 4:55:35 pm
The hinge cover on the side of the seat of my car broke -- and I just ordered the part from the dealer (a shocking $100.00 + taxes for a piece of plastic).

It means removing part of the upholstery on the seat cushion -- anyone ever done this? And how hard is it to get it back on? Do I have to take the seat out?

I had one break on the passenger side seat. I picked up some epoxy putty and glued it back together and added another dab of the stuff to hold it more securely to the seat rail. Cost for the repair: $2.50

Thanks -- I'll give that a shot.

I replaced a bottom cushion once. Stretching the new one over the frame was a two person job. It was from GAHH, so maybe wasn't quite the right size, but probably was just tight because it was new. I tried front first, back first, everything I could think of. It was a bear to do but in the end looked just like the original.
