That looks like some major HP. What is it?
Tung-Sol 6550s Really?

My VTLs always sounded best with Russian 6550s (sixteen 6550 tubes total!). They were labeled "Svetlana" although there was some disagreement as to who in Russia actually made them. The best Russian 6550 tubes were identified by the square holes in the stators. The word on Chinese 6550 tubes indicated variable quality and short life. I am assuming that Tung-Sol is Chinese no?

Tell the story on these tubes.

By the way, I always manage burn the sides of my fingers when I bias mine.

Peace

TS's are Russian, maybe the Reflektor factory.

Had Svetlanas in, but after 10+ years and 2500+ hours, figured a change was due. Also have been curious about TS sound. The highs so far (9 hours) seem a little closed, but I might be missing an etched quality the Svets had... too many hours? The Bugle Boys in my DAC had a bajillion hours since 1956, had went from smooth to brittle. Definitely holding on to the Svetlanas,... just in case.

I love the sound of tubes.
My CJ MV-75A is one of the sweetest sounding amps I have owned.
Yep. Love the tube euphonia. *NM*
