headlight switch failure imminent?
bb1 - Monday, 10 March, 2014, at 9:26:47 am
Hi Folks. Have a 1st gen Boxster and have noticed recently that it's been getting a bit harder to turn the headlight switch on/off. Just not feeling the same (almost feels like it will break if you turn it). They still work but I am worried the light switch is about to go out. (the "ignition switch" on the car has recently been replaced so there should be no problem there).

Just wondering if this part, fails suddenly.........or if it is a slow failure/etc.
Thanks
When mine failed....

the headlights would not come on. I could flasht he brights and the fog lights worked. I could fiddle with the switch and the headlights would eventually come on. I was able to do this a few times until I could not get them to come on at all. The failure is not sudden, but it is not drawn out either. Mine is a 2002 S. Probably better to go ahead and get the part and replace it. Better than being without headlights when you need them.

Sounds prudent - thanks for the info
