Some of you may remember that last April I inquired about a coolant leakage issue on my car just before it went out of warranty. The advise was to replace the coolant cap and check coolant level periodically. I am happy to report that after I installed the new cap provided by the dealer that there is no noticeable drop in coolant level after 1300 miles. Thanks all for the help.
I had a similar issue 2 weeks ago in Las Vegas. I lost a lot of coolant in the 111 degree heat. I got to a dealer and they pressure tested the system, found no issues, replaced the cap and no furher symptoms. ~6000 miles since and no more leak
Back in 74, codriving a friend's Volvo B18 (?) the gen light went on in the 108 degree evening heat of Phoenix. Stayed on all the way out to Oxnard Beach, where one night the car died. Having only driven until then only in daylight, the electricals held out. We discovered a relay in the regulator had fused shut, freed it, and along with a jump, that was that.
