A bit closer is the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel

It's pretty amazing and has the added feature of diving under water in what seemed to me like being in the middle of an ocean. And there's a tourist stop about halfway out.

Although the wife and I did spend a little more than a Sunday drive to do it. We were on long weekend jaunt that took in Kitty Hawk and Assoteague(sp?) Island. We didn't even take a Porsche; drove the Audi Quattro instead.
