I have a 2000 Boxster (base). I started it after having it sit for 4 days in an airport lot. It didn't initially want to turn over, but it did and the drive home was uneventful.

You mean that lighted mark to the left of the time display? That's a squirrel that needs to go do a number 2 warning light. Actually, that's a broken LCD display (most likely happened during cold weather). There's not much you can do to fix it other than changing out the LCD behind the gauge, or just live with it.
