Porsche Parade 2011
Jack G - Thursday, 24 February, 2011, at 5:33:10 pm
Hello -
I am looking forward to going to my first Parade in Savannah.
Would like to enter the Concourse, Autocross and one of the casual tour drives
around the area.

Does anyone else have plans to attend?
It would be nice to meet each other if some of us are attending.
I would be driving up from the Ft. Lauderdale area.

Registration opens on March 8th.

I went to BRBS last year and had a great time, but I really am interested in all the activities at the Parade. Jack G
PS. My first post on your board...
I would love to go, but my priority is BRBS ....

... if I go to the Parade it will probably be to compete in the AX.
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

If I go this year I'll probably do the TSD rally and maybe one of the casual drives. I'll probably also judge in the concours (have done so in almost every one since 1983. My recommendation is to go, meet new people; you will make friends from all over the country and possibly elsewhere.

Jack, I was originally going to make BRBS and Parade. Though, after looking through the Parade agenda, I didn't find activities too appealing (to me) to make the trek to Savannah. I love Savannah and love taking my car on road trips,...but I'm with Pedro that BRBS is my priority. Hope you enjoy your trip to Savannah and the Parade! I'll let you know if I change my mind.

Chris - Pam was not to excited about the base camp being in Little Switzerland. To confined for her I think.(No shopping)
I will definitely miss the switch back roads you will have in the mtns..
I just wanted to try something different.
The AX national competition should be good.
Also, you know I like to show my car, so I think I'll enter the concours.
If you make it even for a couple of days, give me shout and we'll drive up together. Jack

Right... LS is a good location, right off a nice loop for driving. Though, I'll miss the opportunity to walk from hotel to a pretty good selection of cafe/restaurants for breakfast/lunch/dinner, or walk over to Kilwan's for ice-cream before turning in. Not sure how many people knew about this, but there is also a decent size public park with a pond with walking trails...which was nice too. Nonetheless, I look forward to LS... I definitely appreciate all the hard work the organizers had to do to refresh the venue this year - change is not easy. Nina and I look forward to this year's event... and I started a new thread in the other section on what to do while in LS. So to identify some ideas of other activities offered in that region outside of driving.

I'll be volunteering at the Parade (my local club is hosting) so if anyone will be attending, let me know.
I'm coordinating...
Pedro (Odessa, FL) - Thursday, 3 March, 2011, at 11:02:45 am
... Gold Coast Region's attendance.
Right now I'm negotiating with different (more affordable) hotels near downtown.
We will probably take 20-25 rooms.
I'll keep you posted.
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro
