I agree with the writer completely. Electric cars are good appliances for getting you around town or back and forth to work, if the distance isn't too great. They don't do much for those people who enjoy driving. Who's going to get excited about a hum and the sound of tires?
A few years ago, a group of us had looked at a Tesla Roadster that was parked. We were standing on the sidewalk beside it and talking. When one of us turned around, it was gone. Had it been a Porsche, Ferrari or a Harley, we'd all have notice when it was fired up and drove away.
With a push toward self driving cars, electric cars fit right in. Just get into your cubicle on wheels, hit the 'Home" or "Shopping" button and start texting....yawn.zzzzzzz.
