Aftermarket stereo for 2000 boxster

Hi All-

I'm in the market for an aftermarket stereo- I'd like to be able to listen to audio via my iphone (and preferrably wirelessly). Chatted with a nice stereo kid, who says that that's all handled now with streaming audio via bluetooth and a head unit that can manage that.

My only criteria is that I would like the functionality, but don't want a gaudy super flashy looking unit.

Have any of you tried? What type of unit did you get? Any pictures?

The install was pretty simple...still using it today.
The only problem is it will not work with the iPhone or iPod Touch.
Never bothered to figure out why as we have a dedicated 60GB video iPod for it.

Anyway, there is a series of articles on the Dual head unit...on the right of the page.

Here is the link to the install:

Your head unit can handle all of that

Plug a wireless Bluetooth unit into your aux in. Then you get the stock look with the added functionality.

Most aftermarket solutions like they've been shoehorned in and are ugly, though functional.

On our old forum, 'Chris in NH' replaced the head unit with an after market unit which looked pretty stock. I can't remember the brand. Maybe you can run a search on ppbb.com.
Chris did a Nakamishi which looked excellent.
