Winter Hibernation
Ed fromTampa ( formerly Long Island) - Sunday, 13 March, 2011, at 10:06:33 am
About to take the Boxster out of its first winter hibernation. It's been sleeping for 4 months - the longest 4 months ever!

Besides adjusting the tire pressure is there anything else I should do before the first drive, or during it?

TIA

Ed

Mine too. Have had mine on a battery maintainer for 4 months. I'm just going to correct the tire pressure and fire her up. smiling smiley
looking for any signs of possible problems.

Open front trunk and rear trunk.

Remove the battery cover and cowl covers and check battery looks ok and the drains are free of any trash and there are no signs of rodents.

After closing rear trunk open top to 'service position' and verify rear drains are free of any trash, rodent sign.

Really you just want to give the car a rather thorough 'pre-flight' check out.

Oh, don't forget to check the space saver tire's pressure too, if it is the kind that remains inflated when not in use.

Sincerely,

MarcW.
