Convertible Top Problem
RayinTN - Sunday, 13 March, 2011, at 12:39:05 pm
I flushed the brakes and clutch on my 2000S on Friday (thanks for the instructions Pedro) and left the top in the service position. This morning the top will not operate.

The top latch is open, the brake is on, fuse B6 is good but other than the click of the switch, I get nothing. I tried it with the engine running and not. The switch that the top latch engages seems to click properly.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

Ray

Parking brake sensor switch. By pulling repeatedly on the brake handle I was able to get the switch to operate. I think I'll try contact cleaner on the switch. I saw Trygve's instructions on replacing the switch and you have to take the whole console apart.

Or you can easily bypass it; and open & close the top with the brake off and the car moving.
