Hey a little levity is what we all need these days, but I digress. A friend of mine put in a new set of brakes on my trusty steed recently while I was out of the country. He sent me this picture of the rubber that surrounds the struts on my 06, PASM equipped, 987S. Is it possible to just replace the rubber surrounds or will I need to swap out the entire strut? I don’t notice any degradation in handling in either mode of the PASM settings.

Hey Larry
Those are the rubber stops to prevent a full bottom-out .
They deteriorate with time.
To replace them you’ll need to pull the strut, as you can only insert from the shock’s top after removing the top hat.
Most people never replace them after they deteriorate and as I said before they only work when you completely bottom-out the travel.
Happy Boxstering
