I have to get a new front license plate and was looking at the needed parts. There are 2 types of screws needed and they are a Head Tapping Screw 4.2 x 32, and a screw 4.2 x 9.5. I am assuming this is metric but can I use a 4 mm x 32 mm and a 4 mm by 9 mm?
An alternative is a mount that uses the tow hook so you don't put screw holes in your car. I have used them for years and it works just fine.
I live in Ca and no I would not put that on my car ugh
This was meant for Frogster's post. I would not put the decal on my car.
why not? better than having a frame and plate, no?

I don't like the looks. I guess compared to the plate, but it just seems funky to me.
The holes are already there, so might as well use them.
... on a track car

So actually, i have the tow hook adapter and leave the tow hook in and if pulled over, explain the situation :-)

The issue is that the tow hook to car is very stiff and the place to tow hook adapter is fragile.

Does anyone have a picture of one on a Boxster. I'm considering getting one for my 2001S.
