Clunk When Up-Shifting into 2nd, Sometimes 3rd

But Never into 4th or 5th, when letting out the clutch.

'98 Boxster 5 spd 83,000 miles. It started about 10k miles ago, I am just now addressing it. Could it be a motor mount? Within the last few hundred miles I am getting engine vibration at low rpm's which it never had before, but the tach needle is steady.

Any help greatly appreciated!

... you have a badly worn front engine mount.
Don't let it deteriorate much more because it can damage your half axle joints.
The OEM mount is only good for 45K miles max.
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro
