I recall in 2014 at LeMans, the LMP1 Audi Diesel hybrids making only a sizzle sort noise, which I took to be the sound of the rolling tires on the pavement. Strange indeed. The Corvettes' subterranean notes had my seat resonating even before the cars came into view. The (I think) Rebellion teams running V6's made the most ear-piercing gutteral shriek I've ever experienced.
