Hi

I got my air vent out of the dash, but there is a cable that needs to be be disconnect which is about 7" in the dash. I can see it when I shine a flash light in there. My hand can't fit thru the hole?

What is the best way to remove the cable and then install the new one that is attached to the vent.

PS I broke the old cable from the old unit...so the old cable is still connected.

Thanks.

Hello,

Update:

I went to the Porsche dealer and they suggested to remove the PCM and this should access the cable. I did that once before when I replaced my HVAC levers.

Next day I went to my Indy and he pulled the cable off a bracket to allow the extraction of the cable and it;s mate right by the dash vent hole.

He inspected my new/used unit I bought from ebay and fixed the top tab so it would engage.

Connected the cable and slid and snapped the unit back into the dash. All Done!

You got to love Indys!!
