Long ago I bought an AUX adapter for my CDR-220 (or CDR-22, I have the CD player).

It sold as a HQRP Audio Cable Blaupunkt to 3.5MM for Porsche Becker CDR-22 or CDR-220 on eBay for less than $10
eBay listing for AUX cable

This unit has the blue connector for the back of the stereo and a male RCA jack to plug into the phone/device.

This worked fine while I had a phone with an RCA jack - like most of the world, I no longer have that option (in an Apple world).

For another $15 I bought a Bluetooth to AUX on Amazon. This also has a male RCA at the end.

I can easily buy an adaptor (female to female RCA) and be done, but would it be possible to cut the RCA plug off my new cable and plug the wires directly into the blue connector which goes into the back of the head unit?
If so, does anyone have the pins/connections I need to make?

As always, thanks.

Andrew
Is there a setting to increase the aux level relative to FM, etc?
My Bluetooth adapter works, but the sound level is really low - even with the stereo and phone volume cranked up to where I might destroy the speakers if a CD were playing.

Thanks

Andrew
The Aux input may have an attenuator and or the output level of the Bluetooth is too low.
Happy Boxstering,

Racecar spelled backwards is Racecar

"If you wait, all that happens is that you get older"... Mario Andretti

I’m watching your thread… hope you find the solution. Wish I could help.
It sounds like the unit you got might be an Aux out adapter but I'd have to see it. Do you have a link or picture?

Also, when you say RCA I think you're referring to 3.5mm.
yes; it's a 3.5mm.

I bought a 3.5 female/female adapter.

The second bluetooth device I bought is this one on Amazon:
Bluetooth AUX Adapter for Car, [Plug and Play] Bluetooth 5.3 Receiver, 3.5mm AUX Bluetooth Car Adapter for Home Stereo/Speakers/Wired Headphones, Hands-Free Calls, Dual Connection, Hi-Fi Music

Bluetooth AUX adapter

I already had the AUX adapter with a 3.5mm plug at the end.

This one has much better volume; I'm having trouble finding a good spot for the microphone; "you sound like you're in a tunnel" has been a complaint so far. If I can find a good spot it will be a well spent $17.

Bluetooth is working well for streaming XM radio from phone and for GPS directions over the speakers (or both at the same time).

I haven’t found a really good location for the mic yet - and this was my principal goal.

Placing mic
Boxsterra - 5 months ago
A while back I made a series of recordings putting an external mic in various locations. It was a while ago and I never ended up installing it but IIRC one of the best places for a mic is the factory location (just to the left of the cluster). I was testing with a small standalone microphone (similar to a lapel clip-on) so it would actually fit inside the stock microphone tube. Perhaps you could place yours in that area as a test if you haven't already.
