I live just north of the city of Tampa and at 60 feet above sea level so we were high and dry with only a few strong gusts of wind and a few squallls of rain.
On the other hand, people in South Tampa, St Pete and Sarasota among others, got the worst of the flooding.
My daughter which had just moved to a new rented house near McDill AFB was under 5 feet of water at midnight on the 28th.
She lost both of their cars, all of their belongings and had to move out of the house because of the threat of mold.
I just got her a used vehicle so she can go to work and take the granddaughter to and from school. Used car prices have gone through the roof in the last few days because of the high demand.
It is heartbreaking to see one of your kids go through that and then, as I drove to and from her damaged home I realized that there are thousands of her neighbors going through it as well.
Please keep them in your prayers.
Thanks,
Pedro
