We recently completed a rear window replacement project using Saran Wrap as the plastic. At first, the RainyDayGarage folks were skeptical that Saran Wrap would be a suitable substitute for the thicker plastic. However, we found that the super tough wrap was easy to work with, does not crack under cold temperature, and very inexpensive to replace when we messed up.

Will have the full write-up of the DIY soon. Those wishing to do the replacement project should note that inexpensive store-brands did not give the same results. So if you are thinking of giving this DIY a try...spring for the more expensive wrap.
