interesting guy to talk to. Said Porsche still has some life as GT 2 class in lemans and rolex seriers. said he asked Pat Long for advice on how to go back to driving one, Pat said " you will get a workout as it is busy in the cockpit" . the had the Montecello Race Club there, with a video of Pat Long setting a new record on the track. guy is fast of hand.

saw Maurice there with cynthia. won a Bell (helet people) weekend bag from Stable energies. great day for driving too.
Nice event, nice people, but the owner of the venue (Collector's Car Garage) decided not to allow photographs of the incredible cars inside its premises (3 entire floors), which included three (3) Carrera GT's. Everything from pristine GTO Judges, to Duesenbergs, to muscle cars galore, to Ferraris, and even a sentimental favorite, a '72 BMW 2002 tii.

They did allow photos of the Porsches outside where they were competing in a Concours D'elegance.

Here are some photos of some of the entries:

So many Porsches, so little time...

Another Row...

Monticello Motor Club's entry.

Quite a concept, this Monticello Motor Club. Similar to the Collector's Car Garage (where you leave your car, they take care of it, you come and drive the hell out of it, bring it back and they take care of it again, etc...), except that where there used to be two golf courses now resides the Monticello Motor Club's private track with plenty of twisties.

A GT3 RS1 with quite a paint scheme that looks like it could breathe fire..

The guy who restored this Speedster started the project in 1969...and finished 3 months ago. He did all of the work, except for the final paint. It is absolutely flawless, to the most minute detail or aspect of the paint work. Not ONE blemish or sanding mark,

This is what $8K of brakes looks like...PCCB.

A 964, very clean!

A nice 356 Cabriolet

A Boxster Spyder

More Boxster content.

All in all an enjoyable day, thanks to Ed Scholl ('06 987). Meeting up with Clif R and NickNY was just the icing on the cake. The fact that Clif won something again means that all is right with the world! LOL!!!

Regards, Maurice.
