Battery

What should the voltage read after the car has been standing and not run for say 2 weeks?
Also it might be a good idea to mark the date of replacement on your battery with a marker, for your own info or for a new owner

And all batteries should be punched with the in-service date.

The minimum voltage for a fully charged good condition battery should be in the region of 12.6 v.
A 75% discharged battery usually displays 12.4 v.
A 50% discharged battery will display 12.2 v.
Fully discharged = ~ 12 v.
Anything less should be looked upon as suspect....
Well, so I guess 11.6 volts aint gonna do it... all I know is that the battery was in the car 2 1/2 years ago when I bought it...no idea how old it is..it is not marked or punched ...I always mark a battery with the date....Off to get a battery...
Thanks guys....

It was reading 11.5 after overnight and just about started..the battery is exactly 4 years old.
I bought a WALMART MAXX H6 fit perfectly $95.00 =$10 FL battery fee and core charge.
3 year unconditional replacement....I tried to use my 9 V "code maintainer" but the Germans use a bigger size cigarette lighter size and the damn thing fell out...so reprogram the radio, clock and ?? what else?
The Alternator output is (and was 14V) so I guess that's it....
