01' Boxster S. 87,000km, 6 spd.
- found a small rip in the inner Pass. Side CV boot yesterday while doing my annual oil change. Me thinks that the driver side was done after PPI when I bought the car in June '08.
Alcantera has been kind enough to lend me his 32mm impact socket,.

When doing a repair on the CV boot, Is it ok to just raise the rear? or should I lift all 4 corners.

P
course whether you raise just the rear or the whole car be sure the car is very secure while in the air.

If you remove one or both the halfshafts before you remove them mark the inner and outer flanges and the faces to where the flanges bolt so you put the shafts back in the same orientation as before.

May not make a difference with the Boxster but in some other cars not doing this can introduce an imbalance/vibration that is very hard to diagnose and correct.

Sincerely,

MarcW.
