That triangular piece of sheet metal that's below the tranny.

Exactly how do u get it back on? I'm putting the car back together after repacking /cleaning /servicing my CV joints. But I can only get 4 of the bolts to line up at a time.....There are 8 total....

Any hints...

Can I make the holes bigger? what's the piece supposed to do?

rubber mallet, and a few medium hard love taps got it back on.....
failing that, you can jack up one side of the car ever so slightly and see if that helps. It will go on eventually but might take a bit of force.
if they are not lining up, your track width ( i think) may be changed. You might have the alignment checked. Pedro knows a lot more about that.
