That brings back such great memories. It was one of our stops the day we drove from Pismo Beach to Carmel and on up to San Fran. What a drive that is. Glad it's reopened for the lucky people to drive it this summer.

I believe that Sebring qualifies. Parade laps at last year's 12 hour race.

And I agree. I'd love to have the same shot at speed. Even tho the 12hr race was a lot of fun, I'd LOVE to do a DE on Sebring!! I was actually thinking of attending the 48 hours or some other PCA DE event in the spring. Nothing like escaping the northeast in February for a little Porsche trip to Florida!

... You have to be s Super Solo driver and must register as soon as we open.
That is one DE that sells out in hours.

... as the rules state, the 48 Hrs. at Sebring is not a DE.
It is not an instructed event, therefore no students are allowed.
That's one of the reasons why only CERTIFIED ADVANCED SOLO drivers are allowed.
Another reason is that some of the sessions are run at night.
Sebring (in the winter) is a very dark place.
At night, you lose your visual cues for braking and turn-in, so you HAVE to memorize the track.

Most of the participants (to not say all) are PCA Instructors.

Here are the Advanced Solo Rules for the 48 Hrs at Sebring.

A first-time driver may request to have an instructor ride in the car for a session to help in assimilating the track quicker.
Here I am riding right-seat on a beautiful 964 RS America who's driver had not driven at Sebring before.
